Father's Day
Well we are coming up on another Father’s day. My favorite time of the year. I get reminded of the wonders of parenthood by my lovely and talented daughter. It’s a reminder of the hard work and dedication that goes into “making” a child.
They don’t just come out and grow up into who they are, that’s our job. Apparently I did well.
My daughter is a glowing...

Elena Kagan... Who cares?
I am so tired of people in politics constantly referring to one’s sexual preference/inclinations. This happens mostly from the left but the right is guilty too. Who cares if this woman is gay? There are so many more reasons to care about one’s background. It has nothing to do with; or at least it shouldn’t, how they are going to decide things. If someone will decide things based...

Health Care is NOT a right!
The first thing that has to happen is define rights. There are numerous definitions for rights. Civil rights are defined roughly as “: the rights of personal liberty guaranteed to United States citizens…” A right is defined as ” : something to which one has a just claim.” These two definitions together are good but not complete. I will add that a right is something...
Juxtapose Liberalism & Conservatism... part 2
Liberals:
Liberals are nice people. I believe they really want everyone to be equal. They deem the treatment as equals as equal in results. That is not possible. There are too many varieties in lives to allow for equality of results across the board. On top of which, it is just unnatural.
Laws of nature as defined by the standard of today are Natural Selection and Survival of the Fittest. It...
Juxtapose Liberalism & Conservatism... part 1
This is a theory that I’ve pondered for quite a while. Getting to spend hours walking dogs, gives one time to think about things. Being the contemplative person that I am, I choose some of the most obscure things.
Liberals and Conservatives have internally conflicting positions. Within each ideology, they contradict themselves creating quite the juxtaposition.
Liberals believe in...
Oil
Watching the news this morning, I saw where there was a foiled attempt to blow-up or severely inhibit an oil distribution center in Saudi Arabia. Can you imagine what would happen to the price of oil? Gasoline at the pump? Heating oil prices? That’s right! As Ralph Cramden would say “To the moon, Alice!”
It’s time to tell the environmentalists to get lost.
While I...
Health Care
Okay… The current health care boondoggle is at least incompetent and at most illegal. There is no interstate commerce allowed with regard to health insurance so the government has no right to enact legislation regarding it’s use.
Enough said? No?
Ask yourself these questions… 1) To how much of your life am I entitled? 2) Should goods or services be provided at the barrel of a...

Funny how Government works!
http://www.econlib.org/library/Columns/y2010/McChesneypensions.html
It seems that if you are a government employee, you are entitled to be made whole for just about everything under the sun. I think it’s time to throw them ALL out and start over. What do you think?

Time to start Saving!
It’s funny how economists, especially the liberal/socialist ones, can’t seem to get past “spending our way” out of the recession. Let’s be clear. If spending; read government spending, worked like they say, we would indeed be in bountiful times, right? George W Bush spent money like a drunk democrat and lo and behold, we’re in a recession. It didn’t work...
Tom Brokaw needs to stop!
I watched about 30 seconds of the Tom Brokaw show on USA network. I watched him breathlessly speak with some folks about their current situation. “These people walk a fine line every day. They live without health insurance. ‘Do you have insurance?’ he asked, ‘No sir we don’t,’ replied the man.”
Very captivating stuff right? Of course after about 15...
Underage drinking is good!
Okay so maybe it’s not “good” but it’s not bad either. Locally in Parker, AZ, there are people who are law abiding (the law is the law and we must follow it no matter what) folks who are not getting their heads around the difference between right and wrong or moral versus immoral.
Ayn Rand defines morality this way:
Judgment to distinguish right from wrong. Vision to see...
Things that just make you say hmmmm?
Okay there are several things about which I find amusing. None the least of which is the seemingly disparate positions that people take on issues important to them. The overwhelmingly inanity of taking a side because it’s on the side on which you believe you are… (People who ignored the idiot Bush because he was a republican and so were they and those who think Obama hung the moon...

Wow... 46
I never imagined making it this far. Don’t ask me why, but when you’re a kid 40 seems so old. Now that I’m here, I’m just amazed. The complexity of the universe, et al the diversity of everything. How everything is intertwined whether you realize it.
I’m thankful for wonderful friends, wife and a loving, caring, beautiful daughter. It just keeps getting better every...
Happy Birthday Alison
Today is my beautiful daughter’s 23rd birthday. It has been the most wonderful time of my life. All of the teaching, helping, nurturing, feeding, changing, growing, evolving… has been an honor to be a part.
Twenty three years ago, I worked at Tom Thumb on Forest and Greenville Ave. I was scheduled to work; on call. I told them I wouldn’t be there because I had to be there for my...

Government's rightful place
The place of the government is rightfully in support of the people. The power of the government should be limited to an amount that leaves the people alone.
American Government | The Philosophy of Liberty
These presentations describe the legitimate role of government and so far, they explain it much better than I. In a nutshell, the role of government should be to never interfere with or favor...
Obama is President; his race is irrelevant
Many in today’s media want to blame racism for any and all opposition to President Obama. Is he a socialist because he is black? Is he black because he is a socialist? I think the answer is no to both questions.
Therefore can the conclusion be drawn that is the socialism in his policies and administration that is drawing the ire of the American people?
If the American people were told that...
PBO = President Barack Obama
The president interjected himself into the classroom today. A number of parents opted out of his appearance by keeping their children at home. I would hope that he along with every other politician on the planet would see this as a sign NOT to involve yourselves in the classrooms of America.
Bush would have been reamed had he tried this. Luckily he and his 37 I.Q. points never made it to every...
