Government’s rightful place

The place of the government is rightfully in support of the people. The power of the government should be limited to an amount that leaves the people alone.

These presentations describe the legitimate role of government and so far, they explain it much better than I. In a nutshell, the role of government should be to never interfere with or favor one person or group of people over another. Yes that means both left and right need to leave the people alone. Live your life how you want to live it as long as it doesn’t interfere with me.

The use of force is a common tool of the left and right. Using tax codes or “morality” laws to form a state in their “image.” Thank you I will do fine on my own and don’t need you to define morals for me. The same can be said for me - I won’t define morality for you.

The left in this country apparently have a superior morality. They will scream to the heavens when the right talks about imposing morality on them (the right to choose) and yet have no troubles whatsoever imposing their morality (taxing the rich, welfare, medicare, medicaid et al) on the rest of society. Enough is enough.

This country was founded on the principles of individual liberty. Folks that is advanced citizenship to say the least. It means that we should be free to live our lives in whatever manner we choose, providing that we are not interfering with the peaceful enjoyment of someone else’s life. In other words, if you like to listen to Metallica on 10, then have an area to play it where no one else is forced to listen as well. Sound simple enough?

Perhaps it is oversimplified, the principles are however the same. We, the United States, will go the way of the Dodo if we don’t get a grip on this soon. Regardless of your politics, the tenets of individual liberty remain the same. Keep your freedom to yourself and I’ll keep mine to me.
